BRITAIN’S airports were in security lockdown this morning as tens of thousands of passengers were being screened in case they are Cliff Richard fans, it has emerged today.
An airport official from one of the country’s top airport terminals said: “Contracting the awful disease of being a Cliff Richard fan is of great concern to us.
We may look the other way if you have brought in a disease from Africa but we cannot run the risk of the Cliff Richard virus spreading, it is far too dangerous.”
Meanwhile some Cliff Richard fans who were desperate to travel and tried to disguise their love for Cliff Richard, were rumbled after they unsuccessfully attempted to smuggle themselves through security as Michael Buble fans.
Airport officials warned Cliff fans they should try a little harder and wear cut down AC/DC or Led Zeppelin T-shirts.
One security worker said: “We will even accept S Club 7 fans, anyone carrying merchandise from the Spice Girls, and we will accept anyone with a Leo Sayer LP in their luggage.”
