THE internet was sickened this morning after a video was uploaded of a successful marriage proposal, thought to be in a crowded shopping mall, it has been reported.
The happy couple caused a positive scene when the young male got down on one knee and proposed to his sweetheart, sparking a flurry of cheers and loud appreciating hand claps.
However, not everyone saw the nice side of the event.
One disgruntled internet user fumed as he told our reporters: “This is the internet, we don’t want to see a happy outcome. We want to see the woman declining her partner’s advances and proposal before running away in tears – leaving her boyfriend completely humiliated in front of bystanders.”
Internet Emotional psychologist Annabelle Grunymyerhoff said: “The trouble with these public marriage proposals is they are often far too successful. The results are nearly always the same and that pisses people off.
“What the internet public want is more knock-backs from the woman with the occasional slap across her boyfriend’s face. This is what people pay premium high-speed Broadband for. They don’t want to see a happy conclusion. They want to see rejection and humiliation.”
Calls for more public marriage proposal fails flooded social media after the truly vile and sickening images went viral.
An Ant-Marriage Proposal Group was set up on social media to encourage more women to tell their partners to ‘fuck off!’ when they embarrassingly get down on one knee in front of hundreds.
Meanwhile, a marriage proposal expert warned of a backlash in future public proposals.
Dr. Edmund Staffheim said: “The guy puts his partner under pressure by proposing in a shopping mall or at a football game.
“This is a sneaky tactic because he increases his chances of his partner accepting his proposal because it is a wide-open public platform. He knows if he took her to a secluded area on their own his chances of her saying yes diminish quite rapidly. It’s also an attention-seeking illness too, don’t forget.”
