Scottish Workers Sent Home Early as Storm Henry Wreaks Havoc
WORKERS received a boost yesterday after hundreds of thousands of workplaces in Scotland sent their workers home early as storm Henry raged across the country.
Office worker Bill told Dafty News: “It was great getting away early. It meant I could go home, take off my shirt and tie and play on my PlayStation before my mum made my dinner.”
Others took advantage of the early finish as many headed for the swimming baths and indoor recreation centres while others opted to splash in the puddles on their way home.
One boss at a factory in Glasgow said: “We had no option but to let all the workers home early. Their parents would only worry about them.”
Meanwhile one witness told our reporters she saw hundreds of workers leave an office building early before the storm hit.
She said: “It was great to see the joy in their little faces. The poor things were all wrapped up in their wee jackets, hats and scarves chasing each other on the way home.
