A 23-year-old woman from Whitechapel in East London has been accused of animal cruelty by the RSPCA for using her pet cat, Toby, to drown out the splashes as her stools hit the water in the toilet at her home in Lower Commercial Street.
It is understood that Tracy Dell, a manicurist, would take the cat into the toilet with her whenever she felt the approach of a bowel movement.
Then, at the point of ‘pinch off’, she would kick the creature in the buttock area, safe in the knowledge that the ensuing caterwauling would effectively mask the noise made by any stool ‘splashdown’
Miss Dell defended the practice last night, telling a Dafty News reporter: “I fully admit to using the cat to drown out the splashes but I didn’t do it every day.
“It was when I had my boyfriend round mostly, although I did once do it when I needed a clear-out during a visit from a couple of firemen who had come round to fit free smoke alarms in the flat”
A spokesman for the RSPCA told us last night: “Ms Dell’s behaviour is reprehensible and indefensible. We have now taken the necessary legal steps to have the cat taken away from her and have advised her to just cover the water in the toilet with a few sheets of paper in future like everybody else”
The case continues.
