The body of a 23-year-old man from Carrick-On-Shannon near the west coast of Ireland was pulled from the sea at Mullaghmore in County Sligo yesterday afternoon following a tragic accident in rough seas off the picturesque coast.
Toby O’Dell, a forklift truck driver, was believed to have been sofa surfing when a huge wave engulfed his sofa and flung him against rocks.
His girlfriend, Tracy O’Dell who lived with the dead man in a converted cowshed in Carrick, was inconsolable when she spoke to us last night.
“I told the f******g eejit not to take the sofa out today but he told me not to be so soft. It’ll take a good few pints of the black stuff before I can get over this one, so it will”
In other related news, a 19-year-old woman from the eastern coastal town of Balbriggan near Dublin was yesterday found dead from exhaustion at her home after a heavy drinking session ended in tragedy when she tried repeatedly to take her knickers off over her head.
