Scottish giants Partick Thistle have signed a record deal with television company Pathé News who will screen all their league and cup ties next season, it has been revealed.
The deal will cover The Jags’ European ties although it is expected Pathé News will prefer to call it the European Cup, the Cup Winners’ Cup, and the Fairs Cup.
A spokesperson for Pathé News told Dafty Sport: “Partick Thistle are one of the leading European clubs with hundreds of fans worldwide. It makes sense on a commercial basis as well as a professional one.
“However, we’re not too keen on this whole Champions League situation. It sounds too futuristic for our liking.”
It is understood Pathé News won’t be able to show live Partick Thistle matches because they have no internet.
Our Pathé News spokesperson explained: “We’ve never heard of the internet. Is that a motorway? If so, we do hope it goes near Maryhill in Glasgow as that’s where the Jags play their home games.”
It’s not the first time a Glasgow club have signed an exclusive television deal. Minnows Rangers signed a six-year package with Cartoon Network in the hope one of their animators will create a win against their fierce rivals Celtic.
