A 44-year-old man from England was said to be distraught after he won tickets to see Rod Stewart live in concert, it has emerged.
The man, known only as Joe, was being comforted by relatives after he won an all-inclusive trip to Las Vegas to see the tartan-clad crooner live in concert..
Joe’s sister, Josephine, said this morning: “Joe’s friends put him up to phoning the radio station for a laugh but it backfired when he got three answers correct.
Now he is totally beside himself and the whole family are rallying round him and we hope to have the best psychological care for him as he is going to need it.”
Commercial radio prize winners’ psychologist Anne de Vernstein told Dafty News: “The consequences can be devastating when a person wins a prize to see a live performer in concert; especially if they are old, decrepit, and well past their sell by date.”
Joe was said to be recovering at home and thanked everyone for their support but his family haven’t broken the shattering news to him that the radio station can’t accept the tickets back once they have been issued and the family are struggling to give the tickets away for free.
