The unnamed man, thought to be in his 40s, won £75 after placing a tenner on Barcelona to beat Paris Saint-Germain and go through to the next round of the Champions League.

Witnesses say they feared for the man’s life after he boasted to his friends about his win.

An eyewitness told our reporters shortly after the incident: “The guy had a bloody cheek screen capturing his winning slip and posting it onto his status. Who does these things, I ask?”

A top psychologist from the University of Making Oneself Very Important said the act of posting your winning betting slip on Facebook could have repercussions.

Our in-house all-round psychologist who specializes in a number of topics said: “There is definitely a sickness in a person to make them want to do such a thing. It ought to be outlawed, to be honest.

“These things should be a private matter or you can say briefly in a passing comment but to actually take a screenshot of your betting slip and upload it to your status on Facebook qualifies, in my book, for a right good slapping.”

It’s not the first time the man has sparked outrage on Facebook.

Only last month he posted a photo of a bunch of flowers he bought for his wife for Valentine’s Day, inviting a string of death threats.
